Saturday, October 11th during A3C, Makin’ It Magazine is hosting an unprecedented $1,000 DJ Battle, and we are inviting you to be a participant.
Unlike traditional DJ Battles that focus on turntablism and the technical sides of the craft, The Cosign was created to spotlight the cultural role that DJs play as tastemakers, finding and exposing new talent.
Event Overview:
8 participating DJs each cosign ONE indie artist that they genuinely believe in! DJs compete in a tournament style battle with winners advancing to the next round. The last DJ standing will walk away with $1,000 cash + bragging rights.
Battle Formats by Round
Round 1: Each DJ plays 60 seconds of TWO records from their artist.
Round 2: Each DJ plays a Full Song from their Artist.
Round 3: Cosigned Artist does 7-10 Minute performance with DJ spinning their set.

5:00 PM - DJ Meet & Greets
6:00 PM - Battle (Preliminary Round)
7:30 PM - Special Guest
8:00 PM - Battle (Semi-Finals & Finals)
9:00 PM - Winner Announced

The winner of each round will be selected by crowd.

The artist you cosign must be in attendance and ready to perform if necessary.

Each DJ will be included in a 2 week promotional campaign leading up to event.

Each DJ must provide recent Photo and social media info to be included in promotional campaign.
